Water Hyacinth - Floating Pond Plants Overview

Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes), a member of the pickerelweed family (Pontederiaceae), is native to tropical America. It has an attractive purple flower which has made it a favourite amongst those interested in ornamental ponds and botanical gardens.

Available from April to September only.

Ideal for shading ponds and long roots are ideal for fish spawning.
